Ben Keathley — Missouri House District 101

Ben Keathley, candidate for Missouri House District 101

Ben Keathley is the Republican State Representative for Missouri House District 101, representing Chesterfield and the surrounding St. Louis County community he has called home for more than 30 years. A practicing attorney and former Chesterfield City Council member, Keathley brings a career of public service and legal expertise to Jefferson City, where he has built a reputation as a fiscal leader focused on restoring public trust in government.

Keathley runs The Law Office of Ben Keathley, LLC in Chesterfield, where he practices contract and family law. He previously served two terms on the Chesterfield City Council, chairing the Public Health & Safety Committee. He is a graduate of Marquette High School and Knox College, and holds a law degree from Syracuse University College of Law along with a master’s degree in political science and public policy from the Maxwell School at Syracuse. He and his wife Jenny, a registered nurse, live in Chesterfield with their two children.

In Jefferson City, Keathley has led the fight to protect Missouri seniors and taxpayers, successfully passing a senior property-tax freeze on two separate occasions and co-sponsoring legislation exempting Social Security and public-pension income from state taxes. He also sponsored 2026 legislation limiting how much personal-property taxes on vehicles can increase, arguing that inflated valuations were unfairly burdening Missouri families. As he put it, “Your car value didn’t just go up by phantom amounts before Covid. Your car went down in value unless you did something dramatic to improve it.” Keathley’s work reflects his broader focus on affordability — easing the tax burden on working families while pushing for a more efficient, transparent state budget.

Keathley’s priorities include:

  • Making healthcare more affordable and reforming Medicaid

  • Keeping property and personal-property taxes low for families and seniors

  • Ensuring an efficient, transparent state budget

  • Reducing regulatory burdens on Missouri businesses to grow jobs

  • Protecting working families
