Colin Wellenkamp is the Republican State Representative for Missouri House District 105, representing the City of St. Charles. A veteran of environmental and infrastructure policy work, Wellenkamp brings a results-driven, solutions-focused approach to Jefferson City, where he has quickly earned a reputation for working across the aisle to get things done for his district.
Wellenkamp serves as Executive Director of the Mississippi River Cities & Towns Initiative, a coalition of more than 100 mayors along the Mississippi River, and teaches as an adjunct instructor at Washington University in St. Louis and Saint Louis University. He and his wife Alejandra live in St. Charles with their two daughters.
In Jefferson City, Wellenkamp serves on the Conservation and Natural Resources and Local Government committees and was elected chair of the Missouri House’s bipartisan Future Caucus, which focuses on issues like cybersecurity, disaster mitigation, and economic development. He sponsored nearly 20 bills in his first term, including legislation modifying Missouri’s film tax credit program and measures to protect ratepayers as new data centers are built across the state. As he puts it, his goal is “to empower communities to be able to make a more informed decision for themselves” when it comes to major infrastructure development. Wellenkamp’s approach reflects his broader focus on affordability, growing the economy, and easing inflation’s impact on Missouri families.
Wellenkamp’s priorities include:
Supporting law enforcement and public safety
Increasing teacher pay and school funding
Growing Missouri’s economy and providing inflation relief
Strengthening infrastructure resilience, including water and transportation systems
Solving problems through bipartisan cooperation, not obstruction
